About the role

  • Senior Consultant leading healthcare transformation projects at Moorhouse. Driving meaningful change in the NHS for improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact, meaningful change – take ownership of delivering innovative and strategically important programmes that directly improve patient outcomes, enhance operational performance, and create measurable impact across NHS organisations.
  • Have true autonomy and empowerment – shape your role on projects, contribute to sector growth, and be trusted to lead work your way, supported by senior sponsorship rather than rigid hierarchies.
  • Have deep exposure to the NHS and Health & Care system – work side-by-side with provider executives, operational leaders, and system partners to design and deliver real-world improvements in patient flow, elective recovery, workforce efficiency and care coordination.
  • Learn from a highly experienced team of consultants with deep expertise in healthcare and years of experience shaping, selling and delivering consulting services across the NHS.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years’ consulting experience in a healthcare setting (e.g. with NHS providers, regulators, systems etc).
  • Outstanding delivery/advisory and transformation capability, with experience independently leading workstreams or initiatives in large programmes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence, provider transformation, and performance improvement within health and care settings.
  • Experience across areas such as programme management, change management, operating model and organisation design, process improvement, digital/AI/tech-enabled transformation, strategy & insights and commissioning.
  • Extensive experience delivering consulting services within the NHS, including familiarity with the processes, data and systems used in NHS hospitals.
  • And, or; At least 4 – 6 years’ experience of working directly within, or with, the UK Health & Care system and subject matter knowledge, ideally including:
  • Strategy & system design – working with national bodies on policy implementation, strategy, and system design.
  • System working & integration – supporting Integrated Care Systems and partnerships; improving pathways across providers; developing population health approaches.
  • Provider transformation – operational efficiency, workforce optimisation, service redesign, patient flow, cost improvement programmes.
  • Digital and innovation – enabling adoption of digital solutions, AI, data and technology in provider and system settings.
  • A strong desire to work with the NHS and a passion for Health & Care transformation, delivering change that improves outcomes and sustainability for patients and populations.
  • A ‘big picture business thinker’ with a passion for solving complex organisational and system problems.
  • Proven experience in delivering operational change within acute hospitals or NHS provider organisations, with a strong understanding of clinical operations, patient flow and performance improvement.
  • Knowledge of NHS operational processes and common data sets (e.g. SUS, HED, RTT, A&E, theatre utilisation and workforce data etc), and familiarity with key NHS systems and tools used to manage performance and operational delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including building and nurturing strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and experience effectively managing and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with ability to work independently and identify, scope and lead key initiatives (for client delivery and for internal sector growth at Moorhouse).
  • Commercial awareness and experience in business development e.g. building long-lasting relationships, supporting development of impactful proposals, or identifying potential new work opportunities.

  • A total cash package of up to £80,000 comprising of a base salary of £64,575 and a combination of personal and company bonuses that are paid every six months.
