About the role
- You will be a core contributor to the Web Services team, designing, developing, and maintaining the high-performance, scalable backend services that power the entire mod.io ecosystem.
- This role ensures reliable, fast API access for game clients, developers, and users globally.
- You will use modern technologies to build robust systems, directly contributing to the platform's stability and future scalability under global traffic and high concurrency.
Requirements
- 2+ years PHP experience working with Laravel.
- Experience with NoSQL key-stores such as Redis & relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc).
- An ability to write high quality, modern PHP code using the Laravel framework.
- A strong understanding of RESTful API’s and how applications consume them.
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services’ such as ECS, S3, Lambda, SNS, SES, SQS, EC2, RDS.
- Familiarity with testing suites such as PHPUnit, with the expectation that all code you write is thoroughly tested.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Confidence in your ability to contribute to a project from start to finish with little oversight from senior team members.
- An excitement to dig in and experiment, with real attention to detail and to challenge conventions.
