Responsibilities
The Communications & Outreach Specialist plays a key role in amplifying the mission and visibility of the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (TCEDSV).
Develop, write, and edit Coalition publications, including annual reports, newsletters, brochures, curricula, and educational toolkits.
Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, and editorials related to Coalition initiatives, events, and priorities.
Collaborate with leadership to develop messaging and coordinate media engagement.
Maintain consistent and accurate messaging across platforms, including external profiles and partner communications.
Manage and grow the Coalition’s social media presence to engage audiences, promote resources, and highlight partner initiatives.
Regularly review and update website content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with current initiatives, including prevention-focused platforms (e.g., PrevenTN).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public health, social work, or a related field preferred.
3–5+ years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, outreach, or related work.
Experience working with nonprofit organizations, coalitions, public health initiatives, or community-based organizations preferred.
Demonstrated experience developing written and digital communications materials for diverse audiences.
Experience implementing communications strategies across multiple platforms.
Proficiency with digital design and content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and website platforms such as WordPress or similar systems.
Familiarity with trauma-informed and survivor-centered communication practices required; experience in victim services or prevention work preferred.
