About the role

  • Occupational Therapist supporting older adults to live independently by providing assessments and recommendations. Working within the Commonwealth Home Support Program in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with older adults to support independent living in their homes
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide tailored recommendations
  • Include education, strategy development, assistive technology prescription, and home modifications
  • Be part of a supportive team of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants
  • Collaborate, contribute, and grow professionally across services

Requirements

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
  • A valid and current unrestricted driver’s license
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of aged care issues, the aged care service system (My Aged Care) and empathy with older adults is essential
  • The ability to work autonomously, make decisions, organise own workload and monitor own performance to achieve predetermined targets
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
