About the role

  • Controls Engineer II designing and implementing systems for the Substation Division at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products. Collaborating on project specifications and quality improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and verify Programmable Logic Controller (PCL) logic and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software to monitor and control substation systems.
  • Assist with developing and implementing design improvements for product quality, processing time, component lead time, construction design and product support.
  • Identify and create hardware and software specifications for substation projects.
  • Prepare and review mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Review vendor product submittals and quotes.
  • Design, implement and troubleshoot communication links and networks between substation devices.
  • Perform factory acceptance tests (FAT) and field/site acceptance tests (SAT).
  • Create test plans and record results.
  • Monitor and track progress towards completion milestones and deadlines.
  • Communicate progress towards the achievement of milestones and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of network and communication protocols, logic and control platforms, and system programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of process instrumentation.
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with employees, customers and suppliers.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
  • Advanced computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products and CAD software.
