- Controls Engineer II designing and implementing systems for the Substation Division at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products. Collaborating on project specifications and quality improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and verify Programmable Logic Controller (PCL) logic and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software to monitor and control substation systems.
- Assist with developing and implementing design improvements for product quality, processing time, component lead time, construction design and product support.
- Identify and create hardware and software specifications for substation projects.
- Prepare and review mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Review vendor product submittals and quotes.
- Design, implement and troubleshoot communication links and networks between substation devices.
- Perform factory acceptance tests (FAT) and field/site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Create test plans and record results.
- Monitor and track progress towards completion milestones and deadlines.
- Communicate progress towards the achievement of milestones and deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of network and communication protocols, logic and control platforms, and system programming.
- Advanced knowledge of process instrumentation.
- Advanced interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with employees, customers and suppliers.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
- Advanced computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products and CAD software.
