  • Director of Pro Bono position at Maryland Legal Aid overseeing pro bono service integration. Engaging with law firms and partners to enhance access to justice.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Director of Pro Bono, responsible for strategic development, oversight, and integration of pro bono service
  • Provide long-range planning to ensure pro bono engagement supports Maryland Legal Aid’s mission
  • Shape organizational policy and foster sustained pro bono partnerships
  • Serve as primary pro bono ambassador to law firms, corporate legal departments, bar associations, and partners
  • Develop and implement policies related to volunteer engagement and pro bono assistance
  • Promote staff engagement with pro bono efforts through mentorship models and training collaborations

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar or eligibility and commitment to obtain admission
  • Significant experience working with law firms, corporate legal departments, or pro bono programs
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Strong strategic planning, communication, and leadership skills
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant legal or comparable professional experience
