About the role

  • Field Service Technician providing installation and training for clients on Composite line-pipe products. Requires technical skills and customer service for field installations in Western Canada.

Responsibilities

  • The Field Service Technician is responsible for field installation and training services for clients and their contractors, allowing them to be proficient at all Composite line-pipe products.
  • Operate and maintain company assigned vehicle and equipment.
  • Directs and ensures that Line-pipe products are installed according to company policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for installing fittings and being the “Line-pipe expert” onsite to support customer projects.
  • Support Line-pipe Sales through installation guidance and expertise.
  • Responsible in communicating project scope changes to Project Coordinators.
  • Reports all necessary failure information, collect samples, take pictures of failures for liability purposes, and repair lines per the Line-pipe Installation Policies and Procedures.
  • Create Service tickets with accuracy and submit in a timely manner to ensure proper invoicing.
  • Directs and ensures loading and unloading of all Line-pipe products and property is done according to Mattr Composite Systems installation manual.
  • Follow up with customer’s field representative’s and installers to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Onsite supervision of installations to ensure that the integrity of the client’s infrastructure meets or exceeds the minimum requirements for the Line-pipe Installation Procedures.
  • Prepare job summaries of all projects for Composite Systems management.
  • Responsible for quality of Contractor training per Mattr Policy and Procedures.
  • Report to Regional Depot when not performing field service duties.
  • Reporting Responsibilities; accurately and timely: Timesheets, Service Tickets, Safety documentation, Job Safety Assessment, Contractor certification forms, Failure investigation form, Contractor Assessments.
  • Adhere to all Mattr and client HSE requirements and always promote and encourage safety.
  • Manage daily workload and priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail)
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) would be an asset
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively within Western Canada
  • Excellent customer service with strong work ethic and high personal standards for performance
  • Creative and positive attitude, team player with excellent collaboration & communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to problem solve and trouble shoot as needed
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of installation/repair of pipelines preferred
  • Hydraulics and/or oil and gas experience preferred
  • Previous industry safety training
  • Previous knowledge of working in extreme outdoor conditions
  • Strong safety mindset with consistent commitment to working safely
  • Valid driver license with clean record
