About the role

  • Financial Control Analyst ensuring financial accuracy and high-quality reporting at Manulife. Collaborating with teams on regulatory reporting and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support the preparation of state filings, footnotes, and financial statements.
  • Apply working knowledge of accounting rules, regulatory requirements, and internal business processes within your area of responsibility.
  • Conduct basic financial analysis and support issue identification and resolution.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with managers and colleagues to address issues and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Gain proficiency with MS Excel, Essbase, Lawson accounting segments, and JETS for journal entry processing.
  • Demonstrate commitment to expanding knowledge of accounting bases and the life insurance regulatory environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Up to 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in general ledger, reporting, or financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel; familiarity with Essbase is an advantage.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and/or account reconciliations.
