About the role

  • Financial Analyst at Mangrove Lithium responsible for financial planning, analysis, and modeling for plant and corporate projects. Collaborating with Business Development and Engineering teams while monitoring market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Financial Modeling: Build and maintain complex financial models for plant deployments and commercial-scale facilities, as well as at the corporate level.
  • Scenario Planning: Run "what-if" simulations for plant economics to stress-test Mangrove’s revenue models and scaling strategy, and for impacts at the corporate level.
  • Business Development Financial Analysis Financial Modeling in support of commercial negotiations, feeding results into overall project and corporate financial models.
  • Strategic Support & Reporting Executive Dashboards: Design and maintain Power BI or Tableau dashboards to visualize KPIs for investors and senior leadership.
  • Business Case Development: Create data-backed presentation materials for strategic financing rounds and partnership discussions with customers.
  • Operational Liaison: Work closely with the engineering and project teams to integrate technical milestones into financial forecasts.
  • Market Analysis & Intelligence Sector Benchmarking: Monitor and report on lithium pricing (Hydroxide vs. Carbonate), LME/Fastmarkets indices, and competitor technology advancements.
  • Feedstock Tracking: Analyze the global supply of lithium from brines, hard rock, and recycling sources to identify optimal co-location opportunities.
  • Product Tracking: Analyze the global market for battery chemistries to determine which products the company should be focusing on.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or CFA/CPA candidate is a strong plus.
  • Experience: 4–7 years in financial and business analysis, investment banking, or FP&A, ideally within the Cleantech, Mining, or Energy sectors. Strong preference for candidates with prior exposure to modeling for project finance / infrastructure finance, including equity and lender perspectives.
  • Technical Skills: Expert-level Excel skills (VBA, Power Query, complex financial modeling). Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau). Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite) or specialized FP&A software (BPC, Workday Adaptive).
