About the role
- Data Center Solutions Engineer involved in managing data center projects and customer engagement. Responsible for design solutions and team leadership in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing projects in the early stages (RIBA 0–3)
- Participating in pre-sales engagements with hyperscalers and German government agencies
- Developing custom data center design solutions
- Leading internal and external teams of architects, contractors and engineers
- Advising clients as a trusted advisor
- Presenting and communicating technical solutions to senior management and senior engineers
- Collaborating with manufacturers, subcontractors and internal teams to manage the full lifecycle of data center projects
- Technically responding to RFI/RFP requests
- Supporting and managing relevant post-sales activities
- Supporting teams by incorporating customer feedback into future design workshops
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience designing data center infrastructure, particularly in hyperscale or other large-scale data center environments
- Proven experience in pre-sales engagements and developing technical solutions for hyperscale/neo-cloud and government clients
- Experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or data center operations is essential
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio
- Fluent German and English
- Strong leadership skills, including managing cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Deep knowledge of data center power and cooling systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong sales and customer orientation
- Results-oriented and proactive working style
