About the role
- Physical Therapist Assistant Instructor at Hinds Community College responsible for teaching, engaging students, and addressing diversity-related issues in physical therapy education. Requires clinical experience and certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Co-operate in the execution of the college, division, and program policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Implement teaching strategies that engage learners in active learning.
- Utilize cutting edge technology in teaching in the classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and clinical setting.
- Develop a personal and professional improvement plan in areas identified as a result of evaluations.
- Work a minimum of 35 hours each week (including campus and clinical assignments) during each contracted semester.
- Participate in program assessment and evaluation, including College annual planning activities and state and/or national accreditation activities.
Requirements
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and education commiserate with licensure type.
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time or equivalent post licensure clinical experience in physical therapy within the last five (5) years.
- Maintain and provide current documentation of all professional requirements.
