Responsibilities
Perform project management duties or serve as a technical leader on projects of varying complexity.
Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major roadway and transportation projects.
Oversee the preparation of project documents, designs, analyses, and technical reports; interpret data and coordinate engineering tasks.
Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Serve as a technical expert in roadway engineering design.
Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards.
Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level engineers, supporting their technical and professional development.
Oversee multiple project teams and ensure alignment with organizational goals and project objectives.
Assist with resource leveling of staff across projects.
Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and assist with business development initiatives.
Prepare proposals, scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and funding applications.
Lead project meetings and present to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Represent the organization in interactions with clients, officials, contractors, and partner organizations.
Supervise work groups that may include engineers, designers, and technicians.
Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and performance measures.
Make decisions based on advanced technical knowledge and professional experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Typically 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a strong background in roadway design.
Demonstrated success managing large and/or complex engineering projects.
Proficiency with roadway design software, engineering analysis tools, and project management systems.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision making abilities.
Excellent communication and client management skills.
Proficiency with project scheduling tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
Valid driver’s license.
