About the role

  • Senior Software Developer responsible for fan-facing services at Ticketmaster. Collaborating globally to deliver high-quality, efficient, and maintainable solutions with an emphasis on teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead development work within globally distributed software teams.
  • Ensure global applications are applicable to worldwide markets.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask while coordinating team efforts and reporting progress toward objectives to stakeholders and management.
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders to gather as much information as possible about the problem at hand, and implement short- and mid-term strategies to evolve products toward future success (UX / Design / Product / PMO, etc.).
  • Objectively explore multiple approaches and recommend the best technical direction, including the logic and rationale.
  • Significant involvement in designing web architecture, native applications, and the services layer.
  • Conduct spikes and prototypes.
  • Write exemplary code.
  • Own the full development and deployment lifecycle of your software.
  • Mentor and advance developers in their craft.
  • Debug and triage application issues in production, often not your own.
  • Automate testing, deployments, performance, and recovery.

Requirements

  • Strong backend development skills
  • Proven ability to design and implement clean, scalable, well-structured APIs
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Java 17/21 or related JVM languages
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development
  • Understanding of continuous integration practices
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in software architecture
  • Previous experience with design patterns and SOLID principles
  • Experience working with AWS or another cloud provider
  • Experience with CI/CD servers (GitLab/Jenkins)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other orchestration/scheduling frameworks
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Practical knowledge of one or more database products (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with remote team members.
