About the role

Legal Counsel required for Little Dot Studios Deutschland with expertise in media law and compliance. Key responsibilities include contract management and legal support for business operations.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing legal advice to our business units in Germany.
Lead contract and license management (with support from external counsel).
Provide comprehensive advice in day-to-day operations, particularly in the areas of compliance, data protection, and the drafting of service agreements and other contracts.
In close cooperation with the legal team in the UK, you will take on a broad range of tasks, including legal support for production and creative services, compliance and risk management, and the legal aspects of content monetization.
Contract management (Drafting & Negotiating): structure, negotiate and prepare all types of contracts (short and long form) – from creative services, channel management and content licensing to agreements for unscripted productions.
Compliance & Risk Management: lead and advise on strategic contractual discussions and assess risks in all matters in line with the company profile.
Legal counsel: provide comprehensive legal advice to internal departments (e.g., Production, HR, Finance) on IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) and all legal matters related to production, advertising commercialization and social media compliance.
Day-to-day operations: handle daily legal and commercial matters and tasks within Business & Legal Affairs.

Successful completion of both German state law examinations (fully qualified lawyer).
3–5 years’ professional experience in a law firm specializing in media law or in the legal department of a media company.
Fluent German, both written and spoken.
Business-fluent English, both written and spoken.
Solid knowledge of contract law and intellectual property rights (IPR).
Knowledge of corporate or employment law is a plus.
Familiarity with relevant television industry contracts is desirable but not required.
