About the role

  • Engineering Student Intern working in mechanical design, collaborating with Design Engineers at Lincoln Electric. Involved in production drawings, cost analysis, and product certification.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design/changes
  • Work with Design Engineers, technicians and assemblers on a daily basis
  • Cost analysis and cost reduction projects & ideas
  • Analysis/rationalization of manufacturing process
  • Generating production drawings/ Generating required documentation
  • Generating electrical schematics
  • New product/machine implementation in production
  • Writing manuals for customized products
  • Working with the CSA authorities to get the products certified
  • Managing inventory & creating the Bill of Materials for projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by Design Engineers or Welding Application& Quotation Engineering Specialist.

Requirements

  • Must be in Year 3 of Graduate Program: Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Industrial Process or Metallurgy
  • Mechanical design using sheet metal and machining
  • Drafting using: Solid Edge (3D); Auto CAD
  • Analysis/streamlining of manufacturing process
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards
  • MS Office applications
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Visual Basic
