About the role
- Embedded Linux Engineer developing and supporting a Linux platform for mining machinery. Skills required include C, C++, Python, and Yocto expertise.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support an embedded Linux platform on mining equipment
- Build an embedded Linux platform using Yocto
- Develop low-level layers (drivers, boot) tailored to the hardware target
- Develop and support mining applications on this platform
- Write software specifications based on product manager or system specifications
- Define and maintain the software architecture of the various baselines that make up our machine range
- Design modular software solutions that can be integrated on the platform
- Implement the software according to this design
- Integrate these software components into our various baselines
- Work using an iterative development methodology, in collaboration with the team responsible for embedded software validation.
Requirements
- Embedded systems software engineer with at least 5 years of experience in an equivalent role
- Strong proficiency in programming languages (C, C++, Python)
- Knowledge of the Yocto Project (architecture, build system, tools, etc.)
- Familiarity with debugging, build and simulation tools for embedded systems
- Experience with software project management tools (Confluence, JIRA, SVN/GIT or equivalent tools)
- Fluency in English required; German is a plus.
