About the role
- Senior Data Scientist role focused on Generative AI solutions. Working within Analytics and Data Science to enhance customer experiences and drive new business areas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement generative AI systems in our AWS cloud — e.g., for customer service (AI assistants), internal knowledge work (company GPT), personalization in the online shop, or marketing (generative image AI)
- Select suitable LLMs, adapt and fine-tune models, and develop custom models for tasks such as text classification or forecasting
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions together with the relevant departments
- Drive AI initiatives together with the team and our AI task force — from employee training to building the AI architecture
- Evaluate new methods (LLMs, RAG, recommender systems, forecasting)
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts and data scientists — including cross-functional topics such as data integration and the further development of our AWS infrastructure
Requirements
- A completed degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
- Several years of experience successfully deploying data science and AI models into production in a corporate environment
- Excellent knowledge of Python and common libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Pandas, LangChain)
- Solid experience with cloud engineering (ideally AWS) to bring models into production in our infrastructure
- Confident handling of databases (Postgres, Redshift, vector DBs) and APIs
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in explaining complex topics clearly
- Proactive, solution-oriented working style and enthusiasm for driving innovation within the team
- Fluent in German (C1), both spoken and written
