About the role

  • Linux Systems Engineer managing cloud operations and support for geospatial solutions. Overseeing system changes, security documentation, and operations with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

  • Taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements
  • Working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and respond to security reports
  • Proactively monitor all operational systems and perform some of the more complex health checks
  • Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments
  • Update critical databases with new data
  • Author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance w/ Poly (or ability to pass Poly upon hire)
  • DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
  • Typically requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in AWS/Cloud technologies
  • Advanced Linux administration experience with RHEL 8 or higher
  • Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
  • Proactive self-starter demonstrates a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Can plan and prioritize work.
  • Follow tasks to their logical conclusion and make sure that everything has been done to the right standard.
  • Good attention to detail.
