IT Security/System Administrator maintaining and optimizing IT infrastructure for health care organization. Responsible for security controls, system performance, and user support.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain servers
Manage virtualization platforms and cloud services
Microsoft AD support for On-Prem and Azure
Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery solutions
Implement and maintain security controls across servers, endpoints, and network infrastructure
Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection
Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
Monitor logs and alerts; respond to and document security incidents
Enforce access controls, multi-factor authentication, and least-privilege policies
Develop and maintain IT security policies and procedures
Maintain infrastructure, switches, routers, and wireless networks
Ensure secure remote access solutions for employees and vendors
Optimize network performance and availability
User Support & Documentation
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5+ years of experience in system administration and IT security
Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
Experience with firewalls, endpoint security tools, and backup systems
Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
Industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+, Microsoft, AWS, or similar), preferred
Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis, preferred
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python), preferred
Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, government), preferred
