About the role
- Residential Energy Auditor performing energy audits for homes under the Energize Delaware program. Responsible for inspecting insulation, HVAC systems, and documenting findings for homeowners.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential energy audits and diagnostic testing (blower door, duct testing — training provided)
- Inspect insulation, air sealing, HVAC/duct systems, and building envelope components
- Review homeowner comfort/energy concerns and collect usage information
- Document findings accurately for the Energize Delaware program
- Produce clear written reports and recommendations
- Maintain organized tools, equipment, and job sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and the office team
Requirements
- Experience in home inspections OR residential construction (remodeling, insulation, HVAC, roofing, carpentry, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and tight spaces
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Valid DE driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Willingness to earn BPI Certification (training provided)
