Responsibilities
Applying engineering and chemistry techniques in the improvement of quality and manufacturing processes and products and in the transition of new products and processes from R&D to production
Assist in equipment and processes design to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and to promote safety, quality and reliability
Assess current equipment methods and processes and makes recommendations for changes
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and processes
Shows results in reports
Applies themselves in laboratory setting as needed follows good GMP
May train personnel in equipment and method usage and processes
Performs work under minimal supervision
Assist NPD projects as assigned and in compliance with Procedures, Programs, and Policies
Assist with developing and executing Design of Experiments for pilot plant scale-up and production scale-up
Analyze Design of Experiment data identifying results compared to expectations and opportunities for improvement
Analyze product/process data identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction
Develop work instructions and provide training on new and improved equipment and processes
Assist in identifying, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives which reduce waste and non-value-added activities
Plan, develop and implement quality and manufacturing process changes that yield improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE); production efficiencies, yields and rates
Provide support on any production/product/quality issues as required
Evaluate equipment and process capabilities and make recommendations on equipment design and selection
Lead/direct the installation and start-up of new processes and equipment
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum of 3 – 6 years’ experience in a process manufacturing environment
Self-starter, able to work alone with limited supervision
Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Highly organized in scheduling, executing responsibilities and prioritizing in a multitask environment
Team player - maintain a positive, cooperative attitude with all employees of LATICRETE and all customers
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
Mini-Tab or other similar software
Travel Requirement: Up to 50% (domestic and international)
Physical Requirements: Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds
Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 25 pounds
Standing: Must be able to stand at least 50-75% of the day
Sitting: Must be able to sit 25-50% of the day
Twisting/Bending: Must be able to Twist/bend 50-75% of the day
