About the role

  • Systems Programmer responsible for DB2 subsystem setups and optimizations. Collaborating to troubleshoot complex issues and enhance performance in a flexible working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage DB2 ZPARM settings and optimize system parameters
  • Use tools like IBM Omegamon, CA Insight, and BMC Mainview for performance monitoring
  • Troubleshoot DB2 system issues, diagnose performance bottlenecks
  • Coordinate with vendors for PMR ticket resolution and issue debugging
  • Support transactional environments like CICS and IMS with DB2

Requirements

  • 8+ Yrs experience in DB2 subsystem setup (standalone & data sharing) and ZPARM tuning
  • Expertise in Monoplex, SYSPLEX, and data-sharing architecture
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 DRDA architecture, backup & recovery (image copy, FLASH, mirroring)
  • Experience in REXX/CLIST, ISPF programming, and CICS/IMS-DB2 interface
  • Expertise in SMP/E, DB2 software migration (V12, V13), and maintenance
  • Familiarity with unsupported/new DB2 z/OS features, compilers, and debugging
  • Experience handling PMR tickets and DB2 security/health checks
  • Installation & maintenance of IBM tools (OMEGAMON, DB2 Admin, HPU)
  • Experience with Broadcom (RC Migration, Fast Load/Unload) and BMC tools
