Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
- Build and optimize data solutions on cloud environments (primarily Azure).
- Implement and manage data governance and cataloging solutions.
- Work with structured and unstructured data across SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Develop infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and DevOps.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across systems.
- Apply best practices in software engineering, including SOLID principles and design patterns.
- Participate in CI/CD processes and DevOps workflows.
- Write unit tests and ensure code quality using modern testing frameworks.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in object-oriented programming (Python preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (storage, networking, IAM, etc.).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB is a plus).
- Knowledge of data governance practices (e.g., Unity Catalog).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
- Strong grasp of software design principles (SOLID, design patterns).
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as pytest and mocking tools.
- Experience with streaming data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs) (Nice to Have).
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming (async I/O) (Nice to Have).
- Strong understanding of type hints and typing in Python (Nice to Have).
