Responsibilities
Utilize specialized knowledge of packaging machinery including conveyors, labelers, and inspection equipment to manage the electrical design, PLC and HMI programming as well as start-up and troubleshooting of the automation control systems
Manage integration projects for Krones involving its packaging machinery as well as other manufacturer’s equipment owned by customer
Review customer specifications and collaborate with customers, Mechanical Engineering and vendors to understand and define system requirements
Responsible for the electrical integration of machinery to the control system
Create new and/or modify existing electrical schematics, electromechanical assemblies using 3D CAD, and parts lists to meet the customer requirements and specifications
Provide engineering support for construction and testing of control assemblies and during installation of system
Ensure project meets customer requirements and schedule
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or a related field
3 years of experience as a Controls Engineer
3 years of experience with electric control circuits, variable frequency drives, and PLC and HMI programming
Ability to travel 20% of the time (domestic and foreign)
Experience with one or more of the following: Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens S7, TIA, B&R Automation, UL 508, ISO 13849 Safety Standards, TUV Certification a plus
