About the role

  • Senior Web Engineer developing and maintaining Kong’s marketing web applications with a focus on front-end engineering and CMS integration. Build scalable templates and ensure high-quality user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain web pages and reusable component templates using Next.js, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
  • Architect, develop, and enhance CMS integrations, including content modeling, workflows, and scalable PayloadCMS structures.
  • Optimize website performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and streamline deployment workflows.
  • Contribute to infrastructure and hosting strategies, ensuring CMS and back-end systems effectively support front-end performance.
  • Partner with designers and back-end engineers to deliver cohesive, full-stack solutions and exceptional user experiences.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues using observability and monitoring tools to maintain system reliability and data integrity.
  • Improve and enforce code quality through automated testing (unit, integration, functional, and visual testing) and thorough documentation.
  • Participate in architectural planning, emphasizing scalability, maintainability, and reusability in web and CMS systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers on front-end best practices and CMS integration patterns, fostering knowledge sharing across the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in full-stack web development, with strong expertise in front-end engineering and CMS/back-end integration.
  • Deep proficiency in Next.js, TypeScript, modern CSS, and headless CMS platforms (PayloadCMS preferred).
  • Strong understanding of web application architecture, performance optimization, and scalable system design.
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), and distributed/cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
  • Familiarity with MVC principles and building maintainable, CMS-driven web platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with close attention to detail.
  • Willingness to contribute across the full stack as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in distributed team environments.
