About the role
- Senior Financial Accountant in an expanding Italian cosmetics company responsible for various accounting tasks and team collaboration. Handling financial processes and contributing to international development.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact for all accounting-related questions
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring and onboarding new team members
- Preparation and compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (including provisions, depreciation and accruals/deferrals)
- Perform account reconciliations, vendor/vendor settlements and intercompany reconciliations
- Processing incoming invoices, dunning/collections and cash reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies in close coordination with our stores
- Close collaboration with Controlling on budget planning, forecasts and analyses
- Preparation of annual tax returns (corporation tax, trade tax, VAT) including full documentation of supporting records and coordination with external tax advisors
- Preparation and management of all payment processes for the DACH region
- Planning and supervision of inventory counts and analysis of results
- Responsible for fixed assets accounting (creation, maintenance and depreciation of fixed assets)
- Participation in payroll accounting (posting payroll, reconciling payroll accounts, communication with external payroll providers)
- Active involvement in process optimizations, digitalization projects and system implementations
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration or equivalent commercial qualification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter/certified accounting professional)
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in a senior role
- Solid knowledge of preparing financial statements under HGB and IFRS
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP is a plus
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and experience with ERP and accounting systems
- Experience working with tax advisors and auditors
- Leadership skills and enjoyment in developing employees
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working
- Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for a dynamic, international environment
- Very good German language skills; good English skills are an advantage
