About the role
- Senior Data Engineer at Keyrus leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable data platforms. Collaborating with teams to translate requirements into production-grade solutions and mentoring engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise data platforms
- Act as a technical leader, mentoring data engineers and driving engineering best practices
- Conduct technical guidance sessions and code reviews
- Drive onboarding and upskilling initiatives
- Design and implement end-to-end data architectures and reusable frameworks
- Build, optimise, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Snowflake, Airflow, and Kafka
- Develop pipelines processing 30M+ records daily and enterprise platforms handling billions of records
- Implement advanced data engineering practices such as SCD Type 2 and modular pipeline design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment
- Support end-to-end delivery across DEV, QA, and PROD environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including leadership or senior-level responsibilities
- Strong proficiency in Python and advanced SQL
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including: Streams & Tasks, Time Travel, UDFs, Data sharing, Performance optimisation
- Proven experience building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow or Snowflake Tasks)
- Exposure to streaming/CDC technologies (e.g., Kafka)
- Strong understanding of data modelling, warehousing concepts, and analytics use cases
- Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
