About the role

Responsibilities
- Assist in risk analyses and address actions arising from HAZOPs
- Participate in the preparation and tracking of site projects
- Update process books (operating procedures) for the site's units
- Optimize the synthesis process for trichloroethane and hydrochloric acid
- Work on variable cost optimization by improving unit operations and optimizing operating parameters
- Develop a tool/file to evaluate the health of our units
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an engineering program in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
- Knowledge of risk analysis tools (HAZOP), PI ProcessBook software, office tools (notably Excel), fundamentals of chemical engineering and industrial unit sizing, and reading P&IDs
- Naturally curious and rigorous
- Good interpersonal skills and proactive, able to propose solutions
- Strong analytical skills, willingness to question and improve processes, and good technical writing abilities
- Enjoys working in a team
