About the role
- Principal Engineer responsible for end-to-end RF network design at SES Space & Defense. Leading technical efforts and collaborations with teams on advanced satellite network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in end-to-end satellite network solution design.
- Act as RF and SATCOM technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Assist with satellite and beam selection for requirements.
- Lead troubleshooting of connectivity issues.
- Foster collaborative relationships with satellite operators.
- Advise personnel on technical and engineering developments.
- Lead preparation of proposals for cost-effective solutions.
- Support travel for customer meetings and projects.
- Create opportunities and implement solutions.
Requirements
- Twenty (20) years of relevant satellite communications experience.
- U.S. citizen and must possess a TS/SCI security clearance.
- Expertise in GEO, MEO and LEO SATCOM vendors and constellations.
- In-depth knowledge of satellite user terminal vendors and solutions.
- Exposure to satellite platform providers (iDirect, Newtech, Comtech, etc.).
- Five (5) years of SOF experience.
- Five (5) years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with RF test equipment.
- Knowledge of X, Ku, C, and Ka band commercial satellite services.
