- Partner with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and define mechanical/thermal architecture
- Assemble prototypes and verify form/fit/function
- Manage external component suppliers/manufacturers and provide input to their product roadmaps
- Communicate technical aspects of a project effectively to internal and external customers
- Define design innovations and potential patentable solutions
- Resolve complex design issues and manage design trade-offs
- Mentor/coach/train engineers with less experience
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 8+ years' experience in mechanical design and / or verification
- Detailed knowledge and use of key development tools and design standards: 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis, Tolerances, Manufacturing Principles, Interference Checks
- Broad knowledge developing high complexity projects that require one or more of Mechanical Engineering Design specializations
- Ability to assess a project and articulate risk while developing project milestones
- Experience leading mechanical engineering projects with multiple engineers assigned
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
