About the role
- Supplier Quality Engineer developing and monitoring supplier quality for Ingersoll Rand. Focused on PPM reduction and minimizing warranty failures through collaboration and standardization.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to suppliers in process development, PFMEA, measurement systems, control plans and error-proofing
- Review technical drawings and requirements and participate in supplier qualification and QSV
- Ensure compliance with the Global Supplier Quality Manual and support PPAP processes
- Promote quality and process improvements using SPC, Lean and Six Sigma and validate SCAR actions
- Continuously monitor supplier performance and initiate necessary corrective measures (8D, SCAR)
- Conduct advanced supplier assessments and derive actions to improve the performance of the supplier base
Requirements
- Degree as an engineer, master craftsperson (Meister) or technician in mechanical engineering, plus further training in quality management
- Solid knowledge of the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, including auditor qualification
- Several years' experience in quality within a manufacturing environment and practical application of Lean methods
- Confident use of quality tools such as APQP, SPC, PPAP as well as knowledge of GD&T and metrology
- Expertise in tool design, machining (cutting processes) and operational production workflows
- Very good English skills (B2/C1), strong communication and teamwork skills, and willingness to travel (<20%)
