About the role
- Accountant managing general ledger functions for Ingersoll Rand. Focused on journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a hybrid setup.
Responsibilities
- Prepares accurate and timely journal entries into the general ledger system including but not limited to splits and re-classes, accruals and reserve adjustments, loss and obsolescence, relocation, deferred charges, sales commission and marketing services invoices, and inter-company documents.
- Maintains and controls GL integrity and system processes.
- Performs monthly general ledger account reconciliations which may include trade payables and accounts receivable rollup, general accrued and prepaid accounts, intercompany cash and rollup, deposits and rents, legal and professional fees, etc.
- Provides timely, accurate, and professional reports including balance sheet, income statement and statistical reports, and consequent data load for consolidation.
- Cooperation on the preparation of income tax statements and supporting any other US GAAP or statutory requirements.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations through flux to provide actionable information for division or corporate management.
- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
- Performs miscellaneous general account functions including standard operation process development and review, preparation of required documentation, and cooperation with internal/external auditors.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Secondary/University education (preferably in Economics)
- Working experience in an accounting role
- Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables)
- Advanced levels of English language is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced PC literacy (MS Office)
- SAP, Oracle knowledge is an advantage
