About the role

  • QA Automation Engineer in a fast-growing fintech startup, developing and maintaining automated test suites for product quality. Collaborating with teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create and maintain automated testing suites
  • Write automated test with Cucumber BDD in Gherkin syntax that can be integrated with our CI/CD pipeline
  • Contribute to test execution in containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Work with the team to come up with test plans that fulfil product requirements
  • Ensure overall quality of our products
  • Maintain documentation for automation processes and test cases

Requirements

  • 3 years minimum working experience in software engineering quality assurance, with at least 1 year experience of API testing
  • Strong proficiency in automated test concept and strategy
  • Basic working knowledge of Docker (building images, running containers, understanding Dockerfiles).
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks that use Gherkin syntax, such as Cucumber or Karate.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts, including pods, deployments, services, logs, and configmaps is an added advantage.
  • Ability to write and interpret Gherkin feature files (Given/When/Then)
  • Strong understanding of API testing and integration testing workflows.
  • Demonstrate tracked records of planning and developing automated test
  • Proficient using automated testing tools such as Cucumber, Karate, Postman with Newman, Selenium or any equivalents
  • Solid familiarity with agile methodology and distributed cloud architecture
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and solid problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a reliable team player
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experience in a globally distributed startup or fast-paced environment is a plus
  • Authorization to work in Malaysia is required. Working in the KL office (KL Eco City) 3 days a week
