About the role
- Senior Accountant leading a small team in modernizing internal bookkeeping for a growing company. Engaging in hands-on accounting tasks while ensuring compliance with HGB and optimizing processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small, motivated team (approx. 5 people).
- Actively participate in day-to-day accounting (general ledger, fixed assets accounting, payment transactions).
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB).
- Communicate with international tax advisors (e.g., in Italy, Spain, France).
- Oversee intercompany matters, reporting and consolidation.
- Contribute to daily operations in SAP and design processes — digital, clear and efficient.
- Optimize workflows where appropriate and ensure compliance with GoBD and HGB.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on operational background in accounting.
- Willingness to take on leadership responsibilities.
- Enjoy recording transactions, reviewing, questioning and following tasks through to completion.
- Able to maintain an overview even when not everything is perfectly structured.
- Enjoy developing a small team and bringing clarity to processes.
- Clear and open communication — both internally and externally.
- Solid knowledge of HGB (German GAAP).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, DATEV, Navision or similar).
- Take true ownership of responsibilities, not just manage them.
- Degree or commercial vocational training with a focus on accounting/finance — whether from auditing, traditional accounting or a similar background.
- Fluent German and English.
