About the role

  • Data Engineer developing and enhancing Azure-based data platform for cloud analytics. Engaging in collaboration for data-driven decisions in supply chain, logistics, and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Development and further enhancement of our Azure-based data platform – from the data lake to the analytical front end.
  • Design, implementation and operation of data pipelines, e.g., using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines or comparable orchestration tools.
  • Processing large volumes of data on Databricks / Apache Spark (PySpark) or similar big-data frameworks.
  • Use of cloud data lakes / object storage (e.g., Azure Data Lake, S3, GCS), including security and access models.
  • Modeling analytical data structures (e.g., dimensional models or Data Vault).
  • Delivering reports and analytical models via BI and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau or comparable solutions.
  • Ensuring data quality, consistency, performance and governance.
  • Integration of internal and external systems, including B2B and EDI data flows.
  • Close collaboration within cross-functional teams, including interaction with executive management.

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience (minimum 3 years) as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.
  • Experience with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with data and analytics technologies, including strong SQL skills—complex joins, window functions and performance optimization.
  • Experience building analytical data models for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with semantic models and performance optimization in BI environments.
  • Familiarity with business domains such as Supply Chain & Logistics (inventory, shipments, 3PL, warehousing, routing) and/or Order-to-Cash / Procure-to-Pay.
  • Experience with B2B / EDI integrations.
  • Very good English skills (B2+) and good German skills (B2+).
