About the role

  • Underwriting Support Clerk joining P&C underwriting team, managing broker requests and work allocation. Assembling outputs and assisting management for the 12-month temporary position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming requests from brokers and distribute work accordingly
  • Allocate work and correspondence to the underwriting team
  • Identify, search, log, and distribute applications
  • Assemble and prepare output for mailing
  • Order various underwriting reports
  • Assist management with required tasks
  • Answer inquiries from brokers promptly
  • Develop and maintain business partnerships with brokers and coworkers

Requirements

  • Previous Commercial Lines P&C experience preferred
  • Understanding of underwriting principles and practices
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Keyboarding skills and computer knowledge required
  • Windows-based software proficiency preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
