About the role

  • Software Engineering Manager at IDT Corporation building and leading an agile engineering team. Responsible for managing technical strategy and delivering high-quality products in communications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high-performance, customer-focused culture with relentless attention to quality.
  • Guide technical decisions to align with company standards and goals.
  • Collaborate proactively with the executive leadership to outline the technology strategy and take ownership of underlying technology components.
  • Lead technical discussions and decision-making.
  • Convert initiatives into team tasks and track progress.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Work with Compliance on regulatory requirements and audits.
  • Conduct thorough incident reviews to address root causes.
  • Optimize team structure and resource allocation based on priorities and strengths.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for high-quality, on-time delivery.
  • Improve engineering processes for better efficiency and quality.
  • Drive agile practices and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with product owners to deliver software that wows our customers.
  • Ensure clear stakeholder communication and alignment.
  • Align engineering with company objectives and business value.
  • Recruit and retain top engineering talent.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones to support growth and assess performance.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, fostering learning and collaboration.
  • Address team well-being and prevent burnout.
  • Maintain engineering culture standards.

Requirements

  • Proven Leadership Experience: At least 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional, agile development teams, ideally in a product-driven environment.
  • Technical Background: Solid hands-on experience as a software engineer (.NET or Go background).
  • DevOps and Automation Skills: Familiarity with continuous integration, automated testing, release management, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively prioritize, plan, and perform under pressure or in uncertain situations.
  • Talent Development (Preferred): Experience in hiring and nurturing high-performing engineering teams is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency: Good command of English, at B2 level or higher.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile (Scrum, Extreme Programming, or Kanban) framework.
  • Proven track record of software delivery through all phases of the development process.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
