About the role

Responsibilities
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products with a high degree of complexity; responsibilities include requirements analysis and system design
- Design, develop, test, and validate microcontroller-based PCBs
- Work with software developers to design, develop, and test embedded software
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and support existing products
- Design and evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability
- Assess older equipment designs facing parts obsolescence and redesign that equipment when necessary
- Interact with application engineers, sales, and production, as well as with customers, vendors, and printed circuit board houses
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline, required
- Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline, preferred
- Must have at least 5 years’ industry experience in electronics-based product development
- Proficient in Altium Designer (or similar CAD tool) for schematic capture, component selection, component creation, PCB layout, Gerber generation & verification
- Experience in creating microcontroller-based PCB designs
- Excellent knowledge of electronic components
- Strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing, and validation processes
- Experience with SAE J1939 is a plus
- Experience with the design requirements of UL508A and/or UL218 is a plus
- Willing to travel up to 5%
