About the role
- Sourcing Category Manager for Driveline and Mechanical Components at Sandvik. Responsible for category strategy, supplier development, and commercial negotiations in a global industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Define, own, and implement the Driveline & Mechanical Category Strategy in close cooperation with key stakeholders
- Drive cost competitiveness, operational excellence, resilience, and sustainability across the supplier base
- Lead long‑term development and partnership plans with strategic suppliers
- Own commercial negotiations, including contracts, pricing models, and key terms and conditions
- Actively collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Operations
- Manage Tender and sourcing processes, ensuring accurate item‑ and supplier‑level data in the ERP system
Requirements
- A university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field
- Experience in strategic sourcing or category management within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience within Driveline and/or mechanical components categories
- Commercial acumen and advanced negotiation skills
- Ability to build trust‑based relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive mindset, sense of urgency, and strong drive to deliver measurable results
- Knowledge of Quality, R&D, Engineering, and manufacturing processes is considered a strong advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Fluent English language skill
