About the role

  • Engineer OTA SW Validation for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicle architectures. Collaborating on OTA capabilities and ensuring proper validation for full-vehicle OTA updates.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at HMETC, Regional HQs and the R&D Center in Namyang (South Korea) to support the definition and integration of OTA capabilities across Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicle architectures, ensuring seamless functionality for full-vehicle OTA updates and remote OTA in various operational modes.
  • Validate full-vehicle OTA systems, including remote updates across multiple vehicle modes (factory, transport, and customer).
  • Develop and execute DVP&R plans for OTA functionality, ensuring compliance with functional and cybersecurity requirements (UNECE R155 and R156).
  • Validate CAN and Ethernet network communication for OTA data flows and troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Document and present project and development results within the team and to management.
  • Validate OTA server interactions, including in-vehicle update scheduling, package integrity, and rollback mechanisms.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for OTA-related issues; contribute to project planning for efficient resource allocation.
  • Support project planning while ensuring optimal use of budget, resources, and timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive software validation, with a focus on OTA systems.
  • Basic knowledge of CAN and Ethernet automotive networks, including diagnostic protocols (UDS, DoIP).
  • Hands-on experience with OTA server infrastructure, update orchestration, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Familiarity with vehicle-level integration and validation processes (DVP&R).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deliver clear and concise presentations and reports.
  • Self-driven, eager to learn new technologies, open to new processes and tools, and highly collaborative in sharing and gathering knowledge.
  • Very good command of English, with strong intercultural and communication skills.
  • Class B driving license and willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
