About the role
- Lead Hybrid Network Engineer in Hilton's Technology team driving hybrid network solutions. Supporting global systems for hospitality and corporate operations with technical leadership and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document requirements from various teams and work with vendors to build those solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers in troubleshooting, planning, communication, and more.
- Lead multi-phased, multi-year projects as a leader on the Network Engineering team.
- Review, develop, and monitor baseline and growth metrics/indicators to ensure standardized platform growth and resiliency.
- Contribute to and maintain high-quality documentation about various systems in Hilton's Global Network.
- Cross-functionally: You will be joining a team of cross-functional experts in various network technologies. Your expertise will help guide decisions and implementation across many parts of Hilton's network.
- Support and guide junior engineers to deliver solid, tangible outcomes that directly improve our customers' day-to-day experience.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams within Hilton to implement highly available, secure, and scalable network infrastructure to support Hilton's core systems.
- Work closely with Hilton partners and vendors to ensure platform stability.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of professional experience in Technology or a related field
- Five (5) years of proven Network Engineering expertise that includes hands-on experience
- Two (2) years of experience with AVI NSX Load Balancing technology and expertise in managing the platform in a hybrid implementation
- Experience with Amazon AWS, with core Cloud Networking products such as ALB, NLB, or CloudWAN
- Experience managing both traditional and cloud-native DNS solutions such as BIND9 and AWS Route53
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.
- Demonstrated experience working in an international technology environment managing large, globally distributed hybrid networks
