About the role

Responsibilities

  • You will join the programme accounting team, composed of 8 people: 7 accounting advisors and 1 manager based in Lyon.
  • As a Programme Accounting Advisor, your primary objective is to review and support the preparation of accounting records and closing procedures produced by our field operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures.
  • You will support field teams on accounting matters and ensure adherence to internal procedures, both remotely and on-site.
  • You will be the primary accounting and tax contact for the Programmes.
  • You will develop training materials and tools, and lead or contribute to trainings both at headquarters and directly in the field.
  • You will identify internal control risks and ensure implementation of recommendations.
  • You will perform monthly reviews of the accounting records submitted by field teams.
  • You will oversee the monthly consolidation of Programme accounts.
  • You will verify cash balances and internal transfers.
  • You will perform reconciliations and substantiation of third-party accounts and monitor partnerships.
  • You will perform consistency checks on accounting allocations and descriptions in the general ledger.
  • You will check supporting documents and journal entries by sampling; in cases of deficiencies, you will make recommendations regarding methods and work organization.
  • You will post accounting entries in support of intervention programmes.
  • You will ensure that all accounting information is submitted by field teams and that it is synchronized in the Accounting Information System.
  • You will participate in cross-functional activities of the department and contribute to closing tasks.

Requirements

  • You hold at least a Bac+3 (equivalent) degree in accounting.
  • Experience in accounting control or audit is appreciated, but beginners are welcome.
  • You have a solid understanding of the applicable accounting and legal framework.
  • You are rigorous, comfortable with remote communication, and enjoy working in a team.
  • You have strong office IT skills, particularly Excel, and are comfortable with collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • You have a professional level of English (written and spoken).
  • Professional-level Spanish is a plus.
