Responsibilities
Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes
Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications
Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications
Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications
May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures
Perform engineering services and troubleshooting for Hull Treatment installations at NNS and off-site.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
Comprehensive understanding of hull treatment manufacturing and installation
Must be willing to work in industrial environments
Strong communication and project management skills
Established network with internal and external customers
Understands the use of basic tools and small machinery
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience in operating polymer processing equipment/ machinery
