Port Engineer responsible for maintenance and repair of vessels within marine logistics. Scheduling repairs, managing compliance, and coordinating maintenance efforts for tugs and barges.
Responsibilities
Schedule, coordinate, and perform vessel repair & maintenance.
Coordinate purchasing of parts and repair services and supplies.
Schedule routine maintenance requirements for tugs and barges.
Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures.
Keep tugs and barges in compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Keep accurate records of all maintenance performed using company software program.
Schedule, coordinate, and perform flow of work based on customer orders.
Establish priorities and availability of personnel, equipment, and resources.
Keep records of maintenance performed, hours used, fuel burned, and report to different funding agencies.
Manage oil analysis program.
Compile and prioritize worklists for each vessel for both routine and major maintenance (drydock periods).
Track actual costs of repair and projects against budget.
Perform emergency repairs on vessels as required.
Perform in the company Spill Management team as assigned.
Ensure the Company is compliant with policies, USCG, ABS and environmental regulations.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience maintaining tugs and barges.
Two (2) years of experience on tugs, tankers, oil barges or equivalent military experience.
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the maritime industry.
Four year college education in Maritime field, related studies or have (5) years of experience as engineer on tugs, or other sea going motorized vessels.
