About the role

• Leading Software Architect responsible for microservices architecture at Hero Seguros insurtech. Collaborating with teams to enhance systems and ensure scalability and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and document scalable, resilient microservices architectures;
• Define communication patterns between services (REST, events, SQS queues, scheduled jobs, etc.);
• Establish authentication, authorization and observability standards;
• Define guidelines for versioning, deployment and continuous integration;
• Create and maintain coding standards (PSR, DDD best practices, clean code);
• Conduct high-level code reviews and guide teams on architectural decisions;
• Support the migration of Docker/ECS-based infrastructure to Kubernetes (EKS);
• Define observability strategies (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry);
• Ensure CI/CD best practices (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline);
• Ensure consistency across MySQL (Aurora) databases and other data layers (Redis, DocumentDB/MongoDB, Elasticsearch);
• Act as a technical reference for the team, supporting developers in decision-making;

Requirements

• Strong experience in PHP/Laravel (8 to 11) within a microservices architecture;
• Proficiency in MySQL (design, optimization and replication);
• Experience with Docker (production and development);
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS ECS, ECR, RDS/Aurora, SQS, CloudWatch;
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.);
• Knowledge of messaging and queuing systems (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka);
• Experience with API design, documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger) and versioning;
• Experience with monitoring and observability (logs, traces, metrics);
