Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a mission-focused team of software engineers to deliver market-leading solutions
  • Recruit, retain, and develop engineers by inspiring, motivating, and coaching team members to build a culture of high performance, trust, and continuous growth
  • Oversee team leaders and support them in achieving their missions and delivery commitments
  • Enable continuous delivery at scale by removing workflow roadblocks and improving processes
  • Ensure products are secure, compliant, and reliable for Henry Schein One customers
  • Collaborate with senior leaders on vision and strategy, aligning your teams’ work with company goals
  • Partner closely with Product leadership to influence and deliver on strategic commitments
  • Build cross-functional relationships to drive the best possible user experiences
  • Mature engineering practices and processes to support global growth opportunities
  • Positively and collaboratively influence decision-making across teams, departments, and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive software development experience with 1–2 years leading high-performing teams in remote/hybrid environments
  • Proven technical expertise with modern development practices; able to contribute code and architecture guidance
  • Experience balance leadership and delivery, thriving in a player-coach role and growing into full management
  • People Leadership: Mentoring, coaching, and enabling career development at both the individual and team-lead levels
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines and senior leadership
  • Outcome-oriented mindset, skilled at balancing technical debt, bugs, innovation, and new features in alignment with business goals
  • Adaptability and agility, championing continuous improvement in both process and product.
