Physical Security Engineer programming and configuring access control and surveillance systems. Collaborating with technical teams while managing security project requirements and client relations.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Senior Physical Security Programming Engineer and onsite technical team to program and configure door access, video surveillance, intercoms, etc.
Support the network components of the physical security installation
Provide consultative and proactive project management support to HBS’s account base.
Obtain knowledge on other technologies, as directed by customer demand.
Serve both external and internal clients’ needs, understanding their concerns, and seeking to build trust.
Provide sales consultants and fellow Engineers with physical security design assistance, review, validation, and optimization of systems and protocols.
Contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices.
Understand common vulnerabilities and associated risk mitigation strategies.
Articulate complicated security concepts in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution across the spectrum of systems engineering and integration activities.
Utilize internal and vendor resources to problem solve, determine, and document best path to resolution.
Direct resources to team, report on progress, issues, and problem areas, as well as write and review technical documents.
Attend and participate in weekly team calls as directed by the Team Lead.
Recognize courses of action which can be taken to handle problems or potential problems and apply contingency plans to solve those problems.
Work in a team atmosphere as both a leader and contributor as assigned to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals.
Manage tasks assigned effectively without supervision.
Cross-Education/Mentoring of other Heartland Engineers or Technicians or related personnel.
Meet annual billable hour goal, as defined by HBS.
Requirements
5+ years related experience (IT or physical security)
Professional level certifications with at least 3 manufacturers (Axis, Hanwha, Open Options, Lenel S2, Amag, Verkada, Meraki, ExacqVision)
Experience with Video Surveillance systems and associated hardware/software
IT experience in networking and Windows
Excellent customer service skills
Team oriented and knowledge contributor
Ability to prioritize requirements and meet deadlines
Bachelor’s degree in business or I.T. related discipline and/or equivalent job experience
Three or more video surveillance and/or door access manufacturer certifications (within 60 days)
