About the role

  • Senior Principal Engineer managing drinking water and reuse projects at Hazen and Sawyer. Overseeing project engineering and mentoring staff in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project engineering/management, design, planning, operational support with a focus on water reuse and drinking water projects
  • Supporting proposal development
  • Mentor junior drinking water staff
  • Coordination and collaboration with clients
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery
  • Supporting projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements
  • Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients
  • Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects
  • Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering
  • PE license in Maine is preferred
  • 7-12 years of experience in municipal water treatment, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing
  • Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people
