About the role
- Civil Engineer II supporting the design of civil engineering projects at Hargrove. Responsible for calculations, assisting in design and producing engineering drawings in Decatur, AL.
Responsibilities
- Performing engineering tasks to support the complete design of small and large civil engineering projects
- Produce low complex, complete design calculations and assignments
- Provide design assistance on larger and more complex assignments
- Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies
- Assist with drafting of plans and details for the completion of engineering drawings
- Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support
- Develop written construction specifications that define the scope of work, provide specific instructions, and prescribe quality standards
- Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects
- Work with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projects
- Review and check submittal drawings and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required
- Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred and may be required
- Up to 1 to 3-years of relevant experience in civil-site engineering in the industrial setting
- Working knowledge of civil stormwater analysis software
- Ability to work with a team to complete small and large projects.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
