About the role
- Financial Accountant assisting the finance team in reporting and tax calculations for a global specialty insurance firm. Engaging in monthly and quarterly financial close processes in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with the finance team to issue financial, regulatory and management reports to a high quality and on a timely basis
- Assist the finance team with the completion of the monthly and quarterly close process
- Prepare reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts
- Prepare general ledger posting transactions
- Assist with VAT, IPT & FET tax calculations
- Assist with maintenance and development of systems and internal controls
- Strive for efficiencies in the finance function and add value to the business whenever possible.
Requirements
- Strong monthly/quarterly financial close experience
- Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA
- Experience in financial services, with insurance / reinsurance accounting preferable
- Experience in working with sophisticated spreadsheets
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior personnel within the group
- Ability to prioritise issues, identify areas of difficulty and communicate clearly with Financial Controller / CFO
- Technical expertise & capabilities within your field
- Ability to productively leverage data and technology
